MigOps - Database Migration Specialist - India !

MigOps is looking for a Database Migration Specialist in India with the

Job Responsibilities:

1. Assess the existing Oracle or SQL Server or other heterogeneous
databases for migrations to PostgreSQL
2. Validate if PostgreSQL suits as a target database technology before
migration through POC.
3. Perform migration of Oracle PL/SQL code that includes Packages,
Procedures and Functions to PostgreSQL.
4. Convert SQL’s from Oracle or SQL Server or DB2 or Sybase to
PostgreSQL.
5. Tune complex SQL’s, Views and Stored procedures to outperform the
performance after migrations to PostgreSQL.
6. Provide recommendations on the data types that suit in PostgreSQL.
7. Perform data migrations using the In-house tools developed by MigOps.
8. Provide recommendations to improve the data migration logic.
9. Work closely with our Customers and provide continuous status updates
while performing migrations.

Mandatory requirements :

1. Should have at least 1 year of experience in writing Oracle PL/SQL
code.
2. Strong experience in performing Oracle to PostgreSQL migrations.
3. At least 5 years of strong experience in writing PL/pgSQL and
migrating Packages and Procedures from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
4. At least 1 year of strong experience of coding in Python or Golang or
Java. Expertise in bash scripting is a must.
5. Should be able to find the best alternates in PostgreSQL for various
Oracle features.
6. Should have used migration tools like Ora2PG or Schema Conversion
toolkit.
7. Must be aware of the target data types in PostgreSQL that suit the
corresponding Oracle data types while migrating objects from Oracle.
8. Should have migrated data from Oracle to PostgreSQL using FDW’s or
custom tools or existing open source tools.
9. Knowledge on tools that enable continuous replication of data from
Oracle to PostgreSQL is a plus.
