I've uploaded 1.2.0 gold to http://developer.pgadmin.org/ftp/release/ in
src, slack and win formats. Please could someone check them to make sure
they look OK before we announce.

On a related note, has anyone started work on a release announcement
yet? If not, I'll write one up tomorrow.

Finally, I'll branch CVS in a few minutes so Andreas can get his new
code committed :-)

Dave:

src downloaded, configured and compiled OK in my Fedora Core 3 notebook.
Some trivial tests like connecting, retrieving and updating data passed
OK.

RPM for Fedora Core 3 and SRPM have been been built. They are being
uploaded now -- will be available shortly.

Thanks to pgadmin3 team for the great work!

Built fine on SUSE 9.1 and works without any obvious problems.

I don't suppose there's anyone maintaining RPMs for recent SUSE
versions?

How about gpg-signing the RPMs?

It's very hard for me -- the servers and users that I build RPMs and use
gpg are different...

GPG signatures can be added to existing RPMs. See the "--addsign" rpm
parameter.

By the way: It would be nice if Dave's signature were used, as is the case
for the source tar-balls. Dave: Do you have RPM on your system? - Could
you add signatures to the RPM files?

By the way: A freshmeat update has been submitted, so a freshmeat
announcement is on its way. Now, it would be nice if the
http://www.pgadmin.org/ front page had the news, too.

Ok, seems what I've missed before. Using the right conf, I think it's ok.

Uploaded the new RPM for FC3 and SRPM to developer site. Could you please
take a look at them?

Both the src and i686 RPMs look fine, including the signatures:

As root, I imported your public key into the RPM database:
rpm --import devrimgunduz.pgp.pub

Then, I checked the RPM signatures:
rpm --checksig *.rpm

I suggest that public GPG keys related to pgadmin be gathered on a single
URL on the pgadmin3 website, so that both Dave's and Devrim's public keys
can easily be imported in one's GPG and RPM keyrings.

I have a trusted Fedora Core 1 host on which I could build an FC1 RPM. I
noone else is already doing that, I'll give it a shot within a day or two.

I succeded in building an RPM on Fedora Core 1:
http://troels.arvin.dk/pgadmin/
By the way: It installs without warnings on Fedora Core 2 and 3, as well.
And it also runs fine on such hosts, it seems.

The FC3-targeted RPM currently on the ftp mirrors will not run on older
Fedora Core releases.
A thought: If a single RPM will really work for all by being built on a
FC1 host, why not just distribute such an RPM?

I've rewritten parts of the spec-file. Most importantly, I now include
the source of wxGTK and the latest PostgreSQL 8 beta in the build process,
to minimize dependencies on the build host. As previously, the pgadmin3
binary is statically linked to wxGTK and PostgreSQL's libraries.

I'm not against that, but we know that Fedora users upgrade their desktops
quickly, so I believe we don't have that much FC1 users around. So FC3
targeted RPM will work well for many users.

Could you please send me the SRPM so that we can track the changes in spec
file and apply it to my RPMS, if possible?
