On the bottom of this page (http://www.postgresql.org/download/), there
is a list of other ways to get Postgres. Mammoth is included among
others. Can we get EnterpriseDB Postgres listed there?
It should say:
EnterpriseDB Postgres (link to http://postgres.enterprisedb.com) -
includes consistent cross-platform GUI installers that deliver the most
commonly needed PostgreSQL components and add-ons.
Thank you,

Can someone else (who doesn't work for EDB) pick this up, or at least
give the nod before I do it?
Thanks, Dave.

I am against this in its current state (just read before you flame :)).
If we want to list this on PostgreSQL.Org I have no problem with it if
the page also includes links to the complete source (including
installer). It currently doesn't that I can see.
Oh and the Mammoth link is actually wrong. It should be PostgreSQL Core

If we're including Mammoth, then I'm fine with it. In fact, please also add:
<a href="http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/">Solaris</a> / <a
href="http://www.opensolaris.org/">OpenSolaris</a> - PostgreSQL is
distributed as part of the Solaris operating system through Solaris 10,

Josh,
The installer is a proprietary product from a third party. Even we
don't have the source code for it.
Otherwise, all of the components inside are source.

Sorry, that is not what I meant. What I meant was that the only piece
that source code is NOT available for is the actual installer because
even we don't have the source code. The other components have source
code available for them on the website and on the individual projects
pages on their respective sites.

The installer source isn't there yet largely because it's currently
changing daily and isn't yet ready for public consumption, however we
will be publishing it, probably with the next beta.
There is no precedent for what you request though - we've never had any
sort of policy requiring anything on the site to be fully Open Source,
in fact quite the opposite.
As a quick example, the BitRock installer that has been listed on that
page for many years doesn't offer any source code from what I can see.

You sure about that? Why is there not a Replicator link...

Hmm. Let me reword that slightly.
All the components bundled within the installer are available from
http://postgres.enterprisedb.com/download.do in source form. If there is
a component included for which we do not offer the source, please let me
know as it has been omitted in error.
The installer source code is not yet available for download. It will be
in the future, probably when we release the next version in a few days.

Well there has been hesitation in other parts of the project and IIRC
even on the website about listing closed code. If that isn't the case ,
cool.
Can I have a replicator link too please :)

Because it's *commercial* and thus is on the Commercial Software page?

(or would be, had you asked for it to be added).

It's not closed, it's just not released yet.

Sure - get Devrim to add it to the commercial products page (I'm just
leaving).

Well color me misinformed if you would be so kind to add this to the
commercial page :)
Command Prompt PostgreSQL Replicator

I figured me asking you to do it was enough of a check :-)

OK. While you're at it Magnus, would you mind adding EnterpriseDB, per

I'm continually amazed at how much gets done, and at such speed
considering the apparent chaos that an observer to this list must see.

Added, but as "Mammoth PostgreSQL + Replication", because that's the
only thing I can find it referenced to anywhere - including that piece

Josh, if there is a standard package mechanism for getting these on solaris
akin to yum/apt/portage or similar, I think it should be added to the
download page along with other OS package management links. (We roll our
own pg packages at OmniTI, so I'm honestly not sure how Solaris users get
thier packages, though I know you have them since we use the psql that comes
from a package that's linked to readline).

Heh. Haven't you read about "Project Indiana"? As of today, Solaris has no
packaging system other than the Solaris Updates -- that's the cause du jour
at Sun.
We are planning on providing packages via ftp.postgresql.org for Solaris
Nevada as soon as our Release Engineer can commit do doing them within 72
hours of new PostgreSQL releases. Soon, really.
