PostgreSQL Developer role in Sydney, AU

Fujitsu Australia Software Technology (FAST) is seeking an experienced C programmer to join our PostgreSQL development team.

You will get to be a part of the team that is working on several exciting new features in PostgreSQL, to be implemented on our proprietary version and also the PostgreSQL database appliance.

Preference is for the selected candidate to be located in FAST's offices in Sydney, Australia, with relocation assistance provided. Remote work can be considered for the right candidate.

Main job responsibilities are:
- Work on both Open Source PostgreSQL and Fujitsu's proprietary version
- Design and Develop new features in PostgreSQL
- Mentor junior PostgreSQL developers in the team
- Identifying and analyzing features that will benefit the wider PostgreSQL user base
- Maintaining the code base and creating bug fixes and necessary patches


Candidates should ideally have the following:
- At least 5 years of experience in C programming
- Strong experience in PostgreSQL internals and design
- Preference will be given to candidates with strong PostgreSQL Open Source Community involvement
- Experience in virtualization technologies, memory optimization algorithms and storage systems will be an advantage.
