The PostgreSQL DBA will manage the day-to-day operational tasks
associated with Emma's production and development infrastructure,
including maintenance, monitoring, and report generation for our
database(s). He or she will be responsible for proactively monitoring
systems, ensuring errors are appropriately handled or escalated and
working on ongoing infrastructure projects. This person will work
closely with the Database Architect, Development Group, Support, and
Infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues, gather data, optimize
queries, research errors and maintain an active presence on the
Postgres mailing lists.

Desired Skills:

* Strong SQL query writing and optimization skills
* Fluency with at least one procedural SQL language (PL/pgSQL, PL/
SQL, etc...)
* Experience managing and maintaining a RDBMS, preferably PostgreSQL
or comparable experience with Oracle/MySQL
* Superior troubleshooting skills
* Experience testing and debugging code
* Thorough understanding of Open Systems servers (Linux or Solaris x86)
* Experience with PHP, Python or other comparable scripting languages
