PostgreSQL DBA & Hibernate Developer - Arlington VA

Starfish Retention Solutions, Inc., a fast-growing student success company based in Arlington, VA (near Metro), is seeking someone to join a small, dedicated team of software engineers building web applications to help identify students at risk and then connect them to the support resources at a college that can help. We build highly interactive, AJAX-based client application working with an enterprise-class java backend.

The PostgreSQL / Hibernate DBA will be responsible for performance tuning, system monitoring, backups, data model design, and a bit of application development as well. Experience with partitioning, stored procedures, triggers, materialized views, managing xlogs. Candidate will work directly with a team of Java and JavaScript developers in an Agile development model. A great opportunity to solve challenging problems while working at a small company that has a big impact.
