Postgres DBA Needed (NYC)

Let me know if you would be open to a PostgreSQL DBA role. This is a FT role
in NYC for an established Hedge Fund. Implementation experience coming from
an Oracle environment would be ideal, but coming from other backgrounds
might work as well. The requirement is quoted below.

Responsibilities

* Develop and establish department standards and procedures, and
coordinate the technical support and direction to programming, operations
and other departments.

* Overall responsibilities for team members, project status,
meetings, reporting, scope changes, financials, administrative and technical
issues.

* 24/7 support of production database services.

* Administration, performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning of
databases.

* Management and maintenance of backups and recovery procedures
Installation and maintenance of database server, replication and client
environments

* Strong understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery
processes and procedures.

Requirements

* 4+ years as an PostgreSQL Database Administrator ( ideally with
version 9.2 experience)

* Exceptional experience administering various multi-Terabyte, 24x7
uptime PostgreSQL databases as a Systems/Infra DBA required

* Strong, proven Database Performance Diagnostic skills (at both the
SQL and system levels) required

* Strong programming experience in PL/SQL and UNIX Shell Scripting
and/or Python (preferably) required

* Extensive experience with Backup and Recovery using Oracle RMAN.

* Experience working with Oracle versions 11gR1/2 in a UNIX
environment required

* Demonstrably solid written and verbal communication skills to drive
projects to successful conclusion.
