duplicate key violates unique constraint

During an "INSERT INTO" I get an "Error - duplicate key violates unique constraint...."

 

Is there any way, that i can test the error. Something like this??

 

IF error = "duplicate key violates unique constraint" then

    do something

else

    insert into

end if
