Relation of psqlODBC and postgreSQL version

Hi, Is there any relationship between the psqlODBC version and the postgreSQL version? I am using postgresql version: 8.1.2, Can I use psqlODBC version 8.3.200 with it? Early response will be highly appreciated. Kind Regards, -Abhishek
