Position: Engineering – Senior Software Engineer IPSonar

Lumeta is seeking a senior software engineer very familiar with software production to become part of a team creating and maintaining Lumeta’s suite of network discovery/analysis tools.

 

Responsibilities:

The position’s responsibilities are divided up as follows:

• 80%: Hands-on development of new software product base
• 20%: Unit and integration test oversight in preparation for hand-off to the Quality Assurance group

 

Qualifications:

 

Ideal candidates will have:

• 7 or more years in full lifecycle production software development
• 5+ years of J2EE level development with enterprise class databases
• 5+ years of SQL, transactions, triggers, and stored procedures preferably with Postgres
• 2+ years of Hibernate or other advanced ORM tools
• Ability to implement a complex domain model using Java/Hibernate and Postgres
• Experience with UML/AND and large models (>100 objects)
• Experience implementing in 3-6 month software release cycles, including source-code control, three-tier deployment, bug tracking, and version management
• Ability to self-start, quickly become familiar with, and contribute to complex software products
• Ability to map domain objects to a Postgres database and implement complex queries using Hibernate and PL/SQL stored procedures.
• MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and/or relevant industry experience
• Other important skills for this position:
• Strong verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation skills
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, design, and unit/integration test background
• A proven track record of holding similar positions with successful products is also a plus
• Willingness to work as an independent contributor for  a team effort
