Conulting/Contract to Perm : Need seasoned Postgres DBA for ongoing optimization project.

Must have designed, built and managed PostgreSQL and slon in a production
linux 
environment.

Requirements:
Multiple years implementing/managing postgres databases (postgres
development a major plus)
in-depth experience with slon replication
in-depth experience with other replication/master-masterimplementations,a
plus.

Must be able to hit the ground running,  look at the current implementation
and sql (code) and provide suggestions and alternative sql to optimize the
environment (if not already optimized).

You will work with our current Developer/DBA and offer suggestions on
alternative methods of "sql creation/construction, table layout, table
optimization (Vacuum, re-indexing etc.), you will also work with the
Operations team to understand the slon implemenation, relationships and
assist them in making any necessary changes that are found to be needed.
 
I don't believe a remote candidate can be successful and really need someone
local.

I'll have a FTE REQ for this position in the first quarter of 2008, but
could use some 
consulting/contract assistance before then.  Contract to perm is an option
for the right candidate.
