Senior Database Engineer

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be responsible for schema design as well as implementing and optimizing complex database queries in support of MessageOne’s application suite.   You will be a member of the core development team, but will work closely with Production Engineering with regards to analyzing and debugging database performance issues.  Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to strong cross-functional product teams.  This position will be a direct hire/full time opportunity that will be located in Austin, Texas. 

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience in DB-level development, including schema and query design and performance optimization
• Experience with PostgreSQL RDBMS
• Strong understanding of production DB administration
• Strong application-level design and implementation skills
• Strong programming skills in one or more of the following: Java, C#, C++
• Experience developing in both a Microsoft and Linux environment is a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree
• Strong written and inter-personal communication skills
