Database Administrator

 

This is a position to join an existing team of DBAs. As a DBA you'll work with PostgreSQL in an OLTP and OLAP environment. The position involves being “on call” periodically with occasional overtime. A solid understanding of database and capacity monitoring, RDBMS internals and SQL development and tuning will assist in this position. Experience with replication, backup and recovery procedures as well as patch management will be valuable.  

Desired skills:

·       Expertise in PostgreSQL or other relational database (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server)

·       Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux OS and concepts (processes, cron, bash, top)

·       Experience creating and reading data models (ERDs)

·       Ability to write and tune SQL

·       Familiarity with indexing and other optimization techniques

·       Ability to write in pl/pgsql, pl/perl or pl/sql

·       Knowledge of database design and optimization best practices

 

Both DBAs with extensive experience and junior people who can demonstrate the requisite skills are encouraged to apply.
