Problem getting PostgreSQL 8 Beta5 start on localhost port 5432

The installation run smotly on a Windows xp but when I try to start the service I stops directly. I have installed it on a windows xp, localhost, port 5432 and I dosen´t get any error in the log, any suggestion? lista ( a. t.) ernstso n ( d o t ) n u
