You are not confused by this at all. You understand enough not to have
posted a similar message to Portland User Group. Why would the EU care
when your local PUG do not? Portland is much closer.

Deliberately drawing out a discussion so that it becomes unclear is not
useful or respectful behaviour. Please listen and keep this off-list.
