Hi I tried the August 9 snapshot of cygwin1.dll. I replaced the cygwin1.dll with Aug 09 snapshot of the same and just run the initdb again (making sure that cygwin server is running too), and it worked ! Thank you all for your help .. it really helped me a lot. -Jeetendra Soneja.
