BUG #3911: can not 'make'

Details: 

Ok, what am I doing wrong? I downloaded RC2 and config with:

./configure --with-libedit-preferred   --enable-thread-safety 
--with-bonjour

   sequence             ... FAILED
     polymorphism         ... ok
     rowtypes             ... FAILED
     returning            ... FAILED
     largeobject          ... FAILED
     xml                  ... FAILED
test stats                ... ok
test tablespace           ... ok
============== shutting down postmaster               ==============
server stopped

 39 of 114 tests failed, 1 of these failures ignored. 
======================================================

cc --version gives:

cc --version
i686-apple-darwin9-gcc-4.0.1 (GCC) 4.0.1 (Apple Inc. build 5465)

I usually don't have a problem with 'make check'

what can I send to help find the problem.
