this feature is scheduled for PostgreSQL 8.2 and allready in the release notes of that release, coming most likely eoty.

VALUES (...);
however it would be a nice extension to have:
INSERT ...
VALUES
(...), -- the first row with values
(...), -- the 2nd
(...); -- the 3rd, etc.
