Re: Newsdesk.se article in Computer Sweden

Well, it seems they put the article back online – I just got a mail from CS where they said they were sorry for taking it offline. It’s available here (in Swedish only):

Subject: [pgsql-advocacy] Newsdesk.se article in Computer Sweden

Computer Sweden (the leading IT/business magazine of Sweden) today featured an article on their first page about a company, Newsdesk.se,  that ditched MySQL for because of “lousy performance and stability”. Newsdesk.se, a search engine for press information and business news, instead chose PostgreSQL. One of the Newsdesk founders in the article says: “PostgreSQL handles load much better than MySQL and is incredibly stable. There are more possibilities with PostgreSQL than with MySQL”. This article was available in the printed edition, as well as online at http://computersweden.idg.se/2.139/1.89436

The most interesting part in the story is that the online article somehow has “mysteriously disappeared” from the website during the day. All other articles from the printed edition are now available online, except this one… <tinfoilhat-mode>MySQL is a Swedish company - go figure</tinfoilhat-mode >

Anyhow, I’ll try to contact Newsdesk and ask them if they are interested in writing a case study.

Regards,

Mikael
