Perhaps /usr/local/pgadmin3/share/pgadmin3/i18n is not the right directory ?

It just tried on my windows machine. I just created the pt_BR directory 
on "C:\program files\pgAdmin III\1.6\i18n" and launched pgadmin. I found 
the pt_BR translation in the User Language combo of File/Options.

Can you send me your pt_BR .po and .mo files, so I can check if it works 
for me and then commit them on the SVN ?
