pg schema prefix

It seems that pgAdmin treats any schema that starts with "pg" as a system schema and hides it by default. The docs mention avoiding the prefix "pg_":

"Schema names beginning with pg_ are reserved for system purposes and may not be created by users."

http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.1/interactive/ddl-schemas.html

Any reason all "pg" prefixed schemas are hidden rather than using "pg_"?

OS X 10.4, pgAdmin3 1.4.2
