syntax error in version 1.2.2 - German Umlauts

Hello, I am using pgAdmin Version 1.2.2, PostgreSQL 8.0.0 (LATIN1) on Gentoo 2005.0 and get a syntax error when I try to make a query which contains German 'Umlaute'. (which are special characters). How can I fix this problem? Regards, Timur
